Serves 8.
Ingredients:
- 8oz self-raising flour
- 0.25pt milk
- 2oz butter
- 1oz sugar
- 1 medium cooking apple
- 2tbsp demerara sugar
Recipe:
- Rub fat into sieved flour.
- Peel and core apple. Dice finely.
- Add apple to the flour mix, stirring with a palette knife.
- Add the sugar and stir.
- Mix with the milk to form an elastic dough.
- Press down onto a floured surface and form a round of 15 to
20cm. - Place on a greased baking tray.
- Brush with milk and dredge with demerara sugar. Mark into 8.
- Cook for 20 to 30 minutes at 200°C until risen and
golden.
